My Approach
I operate from a strength-based, trauma-informed perspective.
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)- Focused on identifying the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that keep us stuck and learning how to reframe negative and unhelpful thoughts in order to explore a wide range of possibilities.
-
Solution-Focused Therapy- Focused on answering questions about how you want to benefit from therapy and how your life would be different if your problems were gone.
-
Psychodynamic Therapy- Focused on the psychological roots of emotional suffering. Self-reflection and self-examination, and the use of the relationship between therapist and patient as a window into problematic relationship patterns in the patient's life.
-
Strength Perspective Therapy- Focused more on your internal strengths and resourcefulness, and less on weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings.
-
Mindfulness Practices- Focused on bringing awareness to your thoughts, feelings, and body sensations with a gentle lens. Mindfulness practices can serve as coping and relaxation skills.
